Page 1 of 8 The BBC is running a story on the approval of the New Mexico sales tax increase to pay for Spaceport America. The story has been followed on here for the last week, but it seems it has reached a conclusion. From the article: "Supporters of the new tax say the spaceport will bring thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in space tourism revenue to the area. But critics of the tax plan say the money could be better spent on existing county problems." I wonder how I'd feel if I was living in New Mexico. Sure, it's exciting to have the prospect of an influx of jobs - but how much is it going to burden the average taxpayer?
